Venini
Venini was born in the 20s, in Murano, due to the need to abandon the old glass models for a more modern style.
A fundamental role is taken by a new furnace, the "Blown Murano glass from Cappelin and C.". It is initiated by the antiquarian Cappelin and by the lawyer Paolo Venini.
The authenticity of the craftsmanship mixes with the introduction of new and avant-garde techniques making these Murano vases objects with classic lines, but particular and unique. Important designers and architects design works for Venini that are imitated all over the world. These include Napoleone Martinuzzi, Carlo Scarpa, Giò Ponti, Tommaso Buzi, Pietro Chiesa and the same Venini. The end of the 30s the furnace, under the direction of Scarpa, experiments the Battuti, the finished Fabrics to the grindstone, the Granulari, the very difficult Incalmi. In addition, the Incisi, the Fili, the spots, the "brushstrokes" and other effects that are still today the heritage of the Murano masters. After the war the furnaces resume new vigor and other techniques such as saturnini, the thousand wire, the Sidon, the Mareschi, the Graffiti are born. In 1953, Egidio Costantini established the Center for Painters in the art of glass, which then became the "Fucina degli angeli", which led to the Muranese furnaces Bruno Severini, Braque, Marc Chagall, Le Corbusier, Picasso.
Venini is a company that for almost a century continues to fascinate art lovers of the world. Venini is the best of Made in Italy.
